Excessive stress depletes our vitality, wellbeing and enjoyment of life’s moments. This workshop will integrate the healing art and science of Nia and Naturopathic Medicine.
Nia is a movement form blending various dance, martial and healing arts, uplifting music and energy.
It is empowering and creative, freeing, and mood-elevating in addition to being a great cardio-workout. It is all about the joy of movement. In Nia, you tune in rather than out, learn to be aware of what is going on in your body.
Nia helps reducing stress as it teaches you how to listen to your body and avoid the adrenaline rush associated with that ‘fight or flight’, which in turns aids in healing.
You cannot be stressed or anxious when clawing your way through a jungle as a ninja warrior or while wagging your tail. Nia invites play and expressiveness back into your your hectic, stressed-out day.
It is also a mindfulness and gratitude practice, inviting you to stay in the moment embracing your body with gratitude.
Naturopathic medicine integrates scientific, evidence based medicine with the wisdom of ancient healing traditions. The goal is to educate, empower and support wellbeing of mind, body and spirit by removing the obstacles that prevent health. This holistic approach to stress management provides practical support to balance the nervous system, nourish the adrenal glands, replenish the body and relax the mind.
In this 3-hour participatory workshop you will be introduced to various tools to reduce stress and assist in healing the body and mind such as:
